We were attacked by three Piracy Boats - each containing 30 to 40 men who came alongside and boarded. The crew were wounded with swords, and kept under hatches while the pirates took possession of the boat and sailed away to How-foo, where the informant escaped on the 13th instant by jumping overboard. He was picked up on the 20th instant and returned to Hong Kong on the 20th instant. The boat and property were valued at $3,200. This statement is confirmed by Kwok-ah-Ming, ship-chandler residing in Tam ah Choy's alley, one of the owners of the boat and cargo. The informant can identify the boats and about 10 of the pirates.
